PROVISION OF ALTERNATIVE POWER TO A HEALTH FACILITY IN OGONI
The Board of Trustees of the Kiisi Trust Foundation approved the provision of Solar Power to sections of the health facility as an alternative to the perennially poor public power supply to General Hospital Bori in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. This project is a pilot of KTF’s policy thrust to provide support to public institutions in Ogoniland with the potential to improve the lives of most people.
This project provides power to critical sections of the hospital in the absence of public power, especially in the after-work hours from 7pm to 6am. The sections covered include the Maternity ward, Casualty (A & E), Combined ward, Operating theatre, the walkways between wards, and the pathway from the Doctors quaters at the rear of the facility to the Casualty and Wards.
